Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all our friends and followers!

Looking to the year ahead, 2012 promises to be an exciting one, not least because of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of The Queen’s reign and Headship of the Commonwealth, and with celebrations being planned across the globe there is no chance that the milestone will pass by unmissed.

Alongside the Jubilee Beaconsthe Big Lunch, the Diamond Jubilee Woods, festivities across the Commonwealth and the Royal Family’s overseas tour, the Jubilee Time Capsule provides a unique opportunity for individuals to take part in the celebrations.

The Jubilee Time Capsule is an online archive that will chart the 60 years of Her Majesty’s reign from the people’s perspective.  We are inviting people from across the globe to share their stories; be they memories of life in a Commonwealth country or memories of world events that impacted the Commonwealth.

So far we have received a wonderful mix of stories, including memories of family weddings, independence days, apartheid, graduation, and first impressions of a new country.  This variety of stories is what makes the Jubilee Time Capsule so interesting and why we want you to contribute.

We are encouraging as many people as possible to take part in this fantastic project; helping us to create both a unique online education resource and a wonderful gift for Her Majesty The Queen.

To share your story and take part in the Diamond Jubilee celebrations visit www.jubileetimecapsule.org
